Meanwhile, in Georgia

In Eden law enforcement officials say an unattended Crock Pot was the cause of a house fire that destroyed a home. Was this a social Crock Pot, lashing out because it had been left alone? A depressed Crock Pot not getting the support it needed? Or was this Crock Pot fed the Hell up because of the crappy food it was forced to heat? We'll never know now. From Savannah Now.

Illinois checks in

A 33 year old woman went to her ex-boyfriend's house and demanded money. The ex's roommate said he was not home, but this this not deter the woman. She broke into the house, and was shoved out by the roommate. She then found a Crock Pot in a garbage can, threw it at a parked car. I guess the Crock Pot took a substantial bounce without breaking because she picked it back up and broke a window of the house. She's been charged with felony criminal trespass and criminal property damage. Obviously the Crock Pot was empty, since it was in the garbage can. The story from The Journal Standard.

When hitting someone with a Crock Pot has repercussions

In New Orleans in September 33-year-old Teita Vaughn and her boyfriend, identified as 43-year-old Antonio Carr, got into an argument that turned physical. Carr grabbed a crock pot and hit Vaughn on the leg multiple times before running from the home. Vaughn was brought to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with a fractured left ankle. No word on whether or not there was any food in the Crock Pot at the time of the assault. According to police, officers were again called to Vaughn's home on Oct. 10 and found her unresponsive. EMTs attempted to resuscitate Vaughn, but were unable to do so. She was pronounced dead on scene. The next day, Orleans Parish Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Rouse conducted an autopsy and determined that Vaughn died as a result of a blood clot stemming from the ankle fracture. On Feb. 25, 2015, witnesses gave their accounts of what happened in the September incident, and they matched the original account. Based on this information, Rouse re-classified Vaughn's death as a homicide. Detective Travis Ward was able to secure an arrest warrant for Carr for manslaughter. Carr is now on the run. From WVUE.

Back in Michigan

There was a pretrial hearing last week for Tewana Sullivan, who is accused of bludgeoning Cheryl Livy with a Crock Pot last year. The Detroit News reported that, "Officer Michael Lewallen said Sullivan was saying "I'm sorry. I did it. I'm sorry. I did it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. She was sobbing. She was crying." The cord was also wrapped around Livy's neck. Must have been a long cord because Crock Pot cords are usually fairly short. "Defense attorney John McWilliams said the two women had argued over "presidential politics. Whatever the controversy is between Democrats and Republicans," he said." So is this Obama's fault now? Arraignment is scheduled to take place on February 12th.

Update: her lawyer went there

Back in October, Tewana Sullivan was charged with killing her friend, Cheryl Livy, by bludgeoning her over the head with a Crock Pot. It is still not clear if there was any food in the Crock Pot at the time of the killing. Sullivan's lawyer, John McWilliams, says that his client is competent to stand trial. McWilliams stated that the two had been drinking and that Sullivan's blood alcohol content was a very high 0.41. "It's a recipe for tragedy," McWilliams said. Sullivan's next day in court is January 15th.
