Not a crime, but a horrible accident

A sad story to report on Christmas. A year old baby was severely burned when he pulled over a Crock Pot and the boiling hot apple cider splashed on him, causing severe burns over 30 percent of his body. There's not much more to add, other then the poor kid faces a lengthy recovery. You'll see a sad photo of a burned child in a hospital bed if you want to click on the story.

Now Michigan joins in, Crock Pot as weapon

In the Detroit area, a 66 year old woman has died after being beaten with a Crock Pot. The victim had just returned from a trip with the accused murderer and was attacked in her kitchen as she and the perpetrator were cooking.

No word if the Crock Pot had food in it or not.

The whole story is here.

As the weather gets colder, Crock Pot crime is on the rise.

Drunken Crock Pot contents assault

The great state of Ohio brings us the latest installment.

Dude comes home drunk. Tore up some kitchen furniture and knocked over a Crock Pot, come of its contents burned their child badly enough he had to be taken to the hospital.

Guy is so hammered he is convinced the kid was already burned, resists arrest. Has already threatened to kill the Mother. You know this is going to end up in the local paper.

What was the food?

In New Mexico a man attacked his girlfriend and son with a Crock Pot full of food.

Was he wearing the neck brace before committing the act? Or did he injure himself while trying to injure others? What meal was ruined by this Crock Pot toss?

Story here.

Not a crime, or is it?

Who can say what the dangers of a Hot Crock Pot are? You take your Crock Pot full of warm food to your Aunt's house for a gathering expecting a safe voyage.

But anything can happen on the road.

In Elkhart, Indiana an innocent Crock Pot full of hot chili was being transported when...

WHAM!

A full Hot Crock Pot of chili was released and landed on the lap of a five year old girl, who was sent to the hospital with burns.

Was it the accident? Or did the Crock Pot know things?

I have no further updates on the condition of the girl at this time.

This will be the place

This will be the archive for one of the wackiest crimes of all - those that involve the crock pot. What is it about the slow cooker that brings out the crazy behavior in people? Stabbings over chili, the crock pot as an unwelcome gift, theft of the crock pot while there is food cooking inside!

As the weather cools down in these parts, I expect the crock pot to be used more, and with more use there will be more crime. There have been some fascinating crimes already committed in which the crock pot, if it could speak, could have been called in to testify as a witness. I may bring them back as Classic Crock Pot Crimes, but I'm hoping for some new misdemeanors happening while a slow cooking autumn or winter stew is a part of the action.

This woman in Jamestown, New York choked and stabbed a man after he turned the crock pot off on Christmas morning, 2013.

Do not do this. Ever.

More crock pot crime as it hits the blotter.
